Jordan House Old Age Home
Jordan House Old Age Home has been a pillar of care for the elderly in our community for many decades. Director, Pearlene Meadows-Carolus, has been with the Organisation for almost 2 decades. Jordan House Old Age Home is a Ministry, who are privileged to serve 80 senior citizens, including a Frail Care Unit. They have various patients with illness such as Parkinsons, Dementia, Alzheimer disease, Psychiatric and Bipolar illnesses etc. They face many challenges with special needs. As a Non Profit Organisation, their main objective is to provide accommodation, meals, staffing needs, clothing and personal hygiene to their clients. Several other amenities of life for the Aged and Disabled persons, whom have been previously disadvantaged, include maintaining their dignity and a safe place to see out their golden years, ensuring their wellbeing.
We are very proud of our association with Jordan house and have enjoyed several play dates with some of their clients at the Toy Library. We are firm believers that play is not only for children, but also provides a much needed social outlet for the elderly as well. Our collaboration over the years includes sharing resources, ideas and opportunities for the benefit of all.
As a Pastor in the community, Pearlene provides several support services to families upon the departure of loved ones. Her leadership skills include compassion, empathy and support during times of sadness and loss. With a staff compliment of 30+ , she pursues each day with purpose recognising the important role of leading with dignity and love.
