We are an NPO, focused on support to our community through the establishment of a Toy Library. We work with ECD centres, community Organizations and children aged 4 to 16 years old.
We have following three specific entities linked to Slovo Centre of Excellence, this is often referred to as a HYBRID business model where the For Profit entity feeds into the NON Profit Activities.
- Slovo Centre of Excellence NPO – Socio Economic Development of children through educational support
- Sensory Play And Development Enterprises (Pty) Ltd. – Level 1 business/ 100% black female owned – Allows for business investment by other business for their CSR portfolio (Enterprise Development)
- Yum-elicious – Income generating Activities through product sales/ collaborations/ job creation
- L-I-N-K with like-minded individuals, Organisations and Partners through the Toy Library as a flagship community resource with a focus on educational support through play based learning
- L – Love in Action; I- Inspire others and be inspired; N – Network and collaboration; K – Keep going
- Empower children, care givers and parents to enhance the educational journey of our beneficiaries
- Provide innovative programmes to children who don’t have access based on their socio-economic circumstances eg. Edu-Fun & BrainBoosters
- Provide an opportunity for Job creation to young adults through skills development as Play Facilitators, Youth Interns for work experience in a Toy Library
- Provide a platform for Corporate South Africa to invest in the next generation and upliftment of marginalized communities in an Urban setting

Featured work
Play dates with local crèches to upskill are givers, provide an excursion to children from impoverished and under resourced environments.
A mathematics and literacy based program, Brainboosters is aimed at our Primary School age
group. This is a stimulating Brainbooster programme that encourages the use of a range of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ages 10 to 16 years old
- Providing basic computer literacy exposure through touch typing skills, Microsoft office suite integrated with Edu-FUN activities like puzzles and board games
- Development potential into a STEAM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths)
- Open play date for children from surrounding areas
- Edu-FUN activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, puzzles etc
- Over 100 children per session
